Connecting The Artisans With Designers Beyond The borders Of Morocco

eHandiCraft from Fes, Morocco is very pleased to work collaboratively with http be-snazzy.com in London, UK.
It is one of millions of visions coming out from eHandicraft which aim at building a new and strong connexion between artisans of  Fes and designers/artists from around the entire world.

Now i think that these bags are ready to get packed and shipped to some of the museums in London. By now i can imagine something like ''Oww Darling!! I’m getting overwhelmed, would you like to elaborate more on where these clutches are coming from? '' . I can’t really wait to see the bags in an exhibition, and we are just super glad to say that there will be some new people in London who will get overwhelmed also….Well! Another chance for Moroccan artisans to get beyond their borders!!

Slipper Making Ebook Project

Deeply integrated in the process
We eHandiCraft team are in the process of making a footage  of an

ebook with Maalam (Master) Hassan Ayach a slipper maker and

 Master in Fez.

Quality checking process

The book introduces a new vision of slipper

making, including dressing up with slippers as a new fashion

like any other fancy shoes.

Final step after the slippers are made to fit the feet in a confortable way

I almost forgot the important section in the book...how can clients

make their own slippers without making orders...good isn't it?!!

7 Crazy Facts About Leather-bag Makers That Will Change Your Attitudes Towards Leather Makers.

Leather-bag makers are generous…I used to get proposed some leather-bags as gifts from my leather-bag maker. However if you are not lucky enough (& u’ll never be bcs ur not ME :D ) and you already noticed that the leather maker is being friendly with you, just don’t negotiate the price, because it’s the best deal you can get ! (prices get deeply low when leather makers become affectionate)

·       2 Every leather-bag surprisingly switches to storytelling mode when interviewed which is a gorgeous thing to be, but certainly not at the interview time!

3    They are the most famous artisans in the field , apparently, but still they dislike being dealt with as celebrities when there is an opportunity for that!

·

4 Their love to their wives is peerless; and since it’s so, SOME OF THEM wouldn’t mind having one or two more wives! (as mentioned before, they are generous that's why they appreciate receiving some generosity in their lives as well)

5 Art, talent, and proficiency can’t be learned in school, and this is  how it is for leather-bags makers!

If You've Heard Good News At The Beginning Of The Week So It Means Your Life Is Still Okay !!

Holly news Mates!! Now you can do shopping, buy natural gifts; i mean here authentic and sweet gifts :) in a real cheap price. Well, that may not be of importance but just imagine if you are getting things that you wanted to buy as exactly you imagined them. Personally i never got something as i did imagine when i'm in  Fancy malls...malls are just too sexy to make you feel like you did get your right thing, but in fact you really did not, and you'll never, just beacuse the things found in malls are designed to fit models and expositions spaces but defenitely neither your body nor your space !!

The solution for this dellima is easy and near to you. Just go to the old medina, ask for the last wood maker Abbas in Fez city, who is the third generation in his craft, then go for it; wish what you want...it's almost for free. The wood maker will use the statement '' Amer t'amel'' instead of ''Abra Kadabra'' these two statements are linguistically different but practically the same. Recently, i bought some engraved wooden souvenirs.

Of course didn't forget Mom and Sis so i bought them some beautiful wooden spoons and jars. And believe me, this helped me to restore my blacklisted name with my friends and family and establish a new clean relationship with them...Yaaay !! It really worked!

Potential things that you can order from Abass the last wood maker in Fez:

1: Furniture

2: Literally any type of souvenirs

3: Musical instruments (u'll get surprised if you are a gnawa performer)

4: Imagine a THING and go to have your handmade first natural product

6 Things That You Should Do While You Are With a Copper Smith Whether You Are a Client or Visitor !!

1- Try to have a quick tour around the copper place before going directly to the smith man that you want.

Photo Taken By Jessica Stephens

2- Draw a smile on your face, greet your smith man from a relatively far distance, then the copper smith will invite you to set down if it happens that he is no so much diving in his copper work.

3- A good thing to do is to take the initiative of shaking hands with the copper smith and his apprentice. Also, don't forget people setting around him, because usually those people are important for the copper smith which make them important for you too obviously.

4- Learn how to say YES to almost evrything which will be offered to you out of the generosity of the copper smith, sometimes you can say NO but please don't if it is a food invitation for a liver Sandwich with some mint tea.

5- If you are a man visitor you are good, and if you are woman visitor you are also good except the fact that women visitors have to prepare themselves for the frequently asked question ''why aren't you married yet?'' of course if they are not.

6- Last thing is to sneak out from the smith's  workshop  as smooth as possible if you ever notice that he turned on the busy face!!
